TOWN CLOSURE NOTICE: Offices are closed Wednesday, December 24, 2025, through Friday, January 2, 2026. The FINAL day to submit an inspection request for the current year will be Monday, December 22nd at 12:00 p.m. which will be scheduled for Tuesday, December 23rd.  ALL OTHER REQUESTS that come in after 12:00 p.m. on December 22nd will be scheduled for the week of January 5, 2026.

Schedule an Inspection

To schedule an inspection, you may search for your permit number using the General Search. The scheduling function will only allow for Building inspections on Building permits. Inspections for other agencies’ permits must be scheduled through their scheduling processes. 

Step 1.Must be a registered user

You have to be a registered user to schedule an inspection. 

Step 2.Login

Login to the system

Step 3.Search by Address or Permit Number:

(1) If you search by address, you will see a list of all records associated with that site. Select your permit from the list.

(2) If you search by permit number, enter your permit number in this format: B16-1111 or B18-0001.

(3) It will take you directly to the record detail page, shown to the right. From this page, you can tell if the permit is in progress, issued, or finaled. A permit must be "issued" in order to schedule inspections. To schedule an inspection or to view inspection results, go to Record Info > Inspections.

Call the Inspection Request Line at (408) 354-6877 and leave the following information on the voicemail:

  1. Type of inspection you need for each permit (ex: foundation, shear nail, gas test, rough electric, etc.)
  2. Date requested for inspection (ex: Tuesday, March 22) & a.m. or p.m. preference
  3. Permit number
  4. Address (not lot number)
  5. Contact name & phone number

*Please Note: If all information is not left, your inspection will not be scheduled. Your inspector will call you the afternoon before your inspection to confirm.

Additional Information

Town of Los Gatos inspection times are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays. Inspections can be scheduled 24 hours a day, but must be scheduled by 12 p.m. (noon), for a next business day inspection. Inspection requests received after 12 p.m. will be pushed to the following business day. Inspectors will make every effort to accommodate an a.m. or p.m. request, but it is not guaranteed. Usually morning inspections are between 8 and 12 p.m., and afternoon inspections are between 12 and 3 p.m., but time windows are estimates only.  If your inspector is out of the office, please contact the Counter Technicians for information on who will handle your inspection.
