Building Pre-Application

Step 1.Register as a User

You will be asked to provide the following information to open an account:

• Choose a user name and password.
• Personal and Contact Information.
• License Numbers if you are registering as a licensed professional (must have a current Town of Los Gatos Business License (required). 

Create an account

After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email.  

Step 2.Prepare your plans

Review the Submittal Guidelines prior to applying.

Step 4.What to Expect After Applying

1. Staff will contact you by email or phone to complete the intake process.

2. When your application is accepted, you will be notified to pay fees online (as required). 

3. Your application will advance through the plan review process.

4. Upon approval, staff will contact you for applicable permit issuance steps. 

NOTE: If you are applying for any of the permits listed below, you can apply directly for these specific permit types online without the need for a Pre-Application.

• Electrical Service Panel (200 AMPs or lower only)
• Copper Re-Pipe
• Water Heater replacement (same type and location)
• Water Line repair
• Sanitary Sewer Line
• Residential Cleanout
• Furnace (boiler)
• Air Conditioner and Condenser repair/replacement (same location)
• Residential Reroof
